Description

The Franklin is a desk lamp built around a polished chrome curved arm that sweeps from a cream white metal base to suspend a 300mm diameter metal spun shade at reading height. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) housed inside the shade, directing light downwards onto a desk surface, bedside table or reading position.

Designed for task lighting rather than ambient, the Franklin suits home offices, bedside tables, and side-table positions where focused light is needed without a fixed ceiling fitting. The weighted metal base gives stability on flat surfaces, and the 460mm height positions the shade at a comfortable level for reading or close work when seated. The chrome arm curves over the footprint of the base, keeping the lamp clear of desk clutter.

The cream white finish on the metal shade and base pairs with mid-century, industrial and contemporary interiors, while the polished chrome arm adds a contrasting metallic accent. The shade interior reflects light back onto the work surface, concentrating output where it's useful rather than spilling into the room. The E27 fitting accepts any standard bulb up to 60W, allowing flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament depending on the desired light temperature and brightness.

No. The chrome arm is fixed in position. The shade is oriented downwards to direct light onto the surface below, but the arm does not pivot or adjust once assembled.

The base diameter matches the shade at approximately 300mm. The lamp requires a 360mm depth of clear space to accommodate the curve of the arm extending forward from the base.
