Description

The Fralbena is an outdoor wall light with a clean conical head in anthracite, held on a slim rectangular wall bracket. The body is zinc-plated steel, and a white plastic shade closes the wide lower end of the cone, so the light is directed downward and softened as it leaves the fitting. It stands 24cm high and 14cm long, and projects 18.5cm from the wall, a compact size that sits neatly beside a door or a window. It takes an E27 bulb of up to 10W, which you choose yourself, because the bulb is not included. The IP44 rating settles where it can go: it is protected against splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall or a garden wall.

We would put it beside a front door, along a side passage, by the back step or on a garage wall, anywhere you want light falling where people walk. Corner mounting is possible, so it can also go on the outside corner of a building, which is handy where a path turns. The anthracite finish is a soft, dark grey that sits comfortably against brick, render or painted timber, and it suits a modern house as readily as an older one. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, so it runs from a wall switch, just as your indoor lights do.
