The Fornena is an outdoor wall light with a lantern feel, built around two stacked conical shades in black that open out to white on their undersides. Beneath them sits a clear glass cylinder held in a slim black cage, rising from a round wall plate on a short arm. The body is steel and the size is compact: 22cm in length, 22.5cm tall and standing 24.5cm out from the wall. It takes a single E27 bulb up to a maximum of 40W, and the bulb is not included, so the colour of the light is your choice. The IP44 rating settles where it can go: it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall.

We think it suits a front door, a back door or the wall beside a patio, where the white undersides of the shades catch the light and help spread it across steps and paths. Corner mounting is possible, which is useful on a house where the best spot is the edge of a wall or the turn of a porch.
