Description

The Folis cushion is a rectangular cotton accent measuring 30 x 50cm, with a global-inspired embroidered face and a plain cotton reverse. The front carries a geometric design worked in a cream thread against a khaki green ground: a central pair of diamond motifs, a running zig-zag border and scattered cross and star details. A tassel sits at each corner and along the sides, giving it a relaxed, hand-finished look. It is made from 100% cotton, and the face has the slubby, slightly irregular texture of a cotton slub weave, which is what gives the embroidery its raised, tactile quality when you run a hand across it.

This is a lumbar-shaped cushion, so it works where a square would not: propped at the small of the back on a sofa or armchair, or laid across the head of a bed in front of larger pillows. The long, low proportion suits a bench, a window seat or a reading chair. The embroidered pattern reads as detailed close up but as a calm two-tone from across the room, so it layers happily with plain cushions and with busier prints alike, and the earthy khaki sits comfortably against wood, linen-look neutrals and warmer accent shades.
