Description

The Focus T honeycomb light filter is a 24mm diameter black aluminium accessory designed to clip onto compatible Focus T track spotlights, reducing glare and controlling beam spread. The honeycomb cell structure restricts light to a narrower cone, cutting spill light and concentrating output into a more defined beam without changing the wattage or colour temperature of the bulb behind it.

Used in galleries, retail display, hospitality and residential track lighting installations where directional accent lighting is needed without washing adjacent surfaces. The filter fits Focus T spotlight heads and sits flush with the front aperture once clipped in place. Installation takes seconds and requires no tools — the filter pushes into the front bezel and is held by friction fit. Removing it is equally quick if the full beam angle is needed again.

The black aluminium construction weighs negligible additional grams on the spotlight head, so it does not affect the tilt or swivel balance of adjustable fixtures. The 3mm depth of the honeycomb cells determines the degree of beam narrowing — deeper cells produce tighter beam control but also reduce total light output slightly due to internal absorption. The matt black finish on both the frame and internal cells prevents reflections and keeps the filter visually recessive when the spotlight is off.

The honeycomb structure absorbs a small percentage of light output — typically 10-15% — due to internal reflection within the cells. The main effect is beam narrowing and glare reduction rather than dimming.

Can it be used with dimmed spotlights?

Yes. The filter itself is a passive optical accessory with no electrical components, so it works with any dimmer-compatible spotlight. If the spotlight behind it is dimmable, the filtered output will dim in the same way.

How is it fitted and removed?

Push the filter into the front bezel of the spotlight until it clicks into place. To remove, grip the outer rim and pull forwards. No tools or screws are involved.
