Description

The Flux ceiling suspension kit provides a 5m steel cable with a black powder-coated rectangular ceiling box, wall-mounting bracket, screws and Allen keys for pendant light installation. The cable runs through a central aperture in the ceiling box, which measures 98mm long by 55mm wide, giving a low-profile fixing point on solid ceilings or joists.

Designed for pendant lights and suspended fixtures in residential and commercial spaces, the 5m cable length accommodates ceiling heights up to approximately 4m while allowing the pendant to hang at a comfortable working or dining height. The kit suits open-plan living areas, kitchen islands, stairwells and commercial premises where a clean cable run is needed without visible flex loops or chain suspension. The wall-mounting bracket gives an additional fixing option for sloped ceilings or suspended installations where wall-to-ceiling cable runs are required.

The steel construction handles typical decorative pendant weights without deflection, and the black powder-coated finish on both the ceiling box and cable matches contemporary matt black and industrial-style pendant fittings. The kit includes two Allen keys for fitting the mounting bracket and adjusting cable tension, plus wall plugs and screws rated for solid masonry, plasterboard on battens, or timber joist fixing.

What weight can the cable support?

The steel cable is rated for typical decorative pendant lights up to approximately 5kg. For heavier multi-arm chandeliers or large glass pendants, check the pendant manufacturer's specification and ensure the ceiling fixing point is into a solid joist or concrete ceiling rather than plasterboard alone.

Can the cable length be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cable passes through the ceiling box and can be shortened by releasing the grip mechanism inside the box, pulling the excess cable back through, and re-tightening. The included Allen keys are used to adjust the grip. The cable cannot be lengthened beyond the supplied 5m.

Is the kit suitable for sloped ceilings?

The rectangular ceiling box is designed for flat ceilings. For sloped or angled ceilings, use the wall-mounting bracket to fix the cable run to the wall at the high point, then run the cable horizontally to the pendant position. This prevents the cable from hanging at an angle.
