Description

The Flormine is a three-light ceiling light in black steel, built around a round ceiling plate with three slim rods dropping to bare lampholders at staggered lengths. It stands 38cm high and 28cm across, so it brings a clustered, layered look to a ceiling without hanging low into the room. Each of the three lampholders takes an E27 bulb of up to 60W, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves the choice of colour and warmth entirely yours. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

Because the drops are open and the bulbs sit on show, this ceiling light suits rooms with a relaxed, industrial or loft feel: a living room, a kitchen, a dining area or a hallway where a single bulb would look sparse. The staggered heights give the cluster some movement, so it reads as a layered group of lights rather than a flat line. With bare bulbs, the bulb itself becomes part of the design, so we would choose a decorative filament lamp or a clear globe. The black finish sits comfortably against pale walls or darker paintwork, and it works equally well above a dining table or in the centre of a ceiling.

The body is steel, and the plate, the rods and the lampholders all share the same black finish, so nothing breaks the line. There is no switch on the light itself: it is controlled from your wall switch. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a wired-in ceiling light it is installed by a qualified electrician; the installation instructions are available as a download. Packed, it weighs 1.621KG.
