Description

The Flatron is a long, slim pendant light: a single matt black bar 100.5cm long, hung level from the ceiling on two fine wires. The body is aluminium and steel, rounded along the top, and a strip of LED light runs the length of the underside, sending its 2,500lm straight down to the table or worktop. The fitting is 9cm wide and 150cm high overall. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room, away from steam and splashing water.

A bar this length is made for a long surface such as a dining table or a kitchen island, where a single round pendant would leave the ends in shadow. Because it offers RGB colour as well as adjustable colour temperature, one light can give a crisp, cool white while you cook, a warmer tone for dinner, or a wash of colour for a party. It is dimmable too, so the full 2,500lm can come right down to a low glow late in the evening. For anyone who likes a clean, uncluttered ceiling, the matt black finish reads as a fine graphic line rather than a lump of metal.
