Description
A backless bench 220cm long, 40cm deep and 46cm high, built from reclaimed wood. The top is a single run of boards with a small overhang at each end. It stands on a squared leg frame at either end, tied under the top by an apron and joined along its length by a low stretcher. The timber is sanded and given a light white wash, so the mixed woods read as one tone with the grain and the old marks still showing through.
At 220cm this is the long bench of the two, made to run the length of a dining table where a row of chairs would crowd it. The seat is 45cm from the floor and 40cm deep. It works against a hallway wall instead, taking cushions along the top and baskets underneath. It weighs 39kg.
The wood is reclaimed from Indian ceiling beams, cut to size and sanded, then given a white wash that pulls the different timbers together without hiding them. The tone and the grain still change along the length, and the knots, the splits and the rough patches are left in, so no two benches come out the same. The Fioni range also runs to a shorter bench at 180cm, to dining tables in three lengths and to a dining chair.

Frequently Asked
How long is it?
220cm, 40cm deep and 46cm high. The seat sits 45cm from the floor. It weighs 39kg.
Is there a shorter one?
Yes. The Fioni bench is also made at 180cm.
Where does the wood come from?
Reclaimed Indian ceiling beams, cut to size, sanded and finished with a white wash.
Can it go outside?
No. Indoor use only.
Will every bench look the same?
Not exactly. No two are the same: the weathered tone, the knots and the splits in the grain differ from bench to bench.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it regularly with a soft dry cloth, and use mild soap and water sparingly rather than a wet cloth, always working along the grain and taking extra care over the heavily textured patches, which can splinter. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive materials away from it, stand wet items on mats, and mop up spills at once. Wipe off any oil straight away.
