Description

Finestra Deco is a full length mirror 80cm by 175cm divided into panes by slim black metal bars, with plain mirror in some openings and textured glass in others. The textured panels are reeded so they scatter what passes through them, which is what makes the panel read as a window rather than as a mirror with a grid drawn on it.

The mix is the useful part. The clear mirror panes give you a proper reflection where you want one and the textured panes break it up everywhere else, so a mirror this size does not turn a small room into a hall of reflections. It works particularly well on a wall that faces a window, where the reeded glass catches daylight and holds it. It hangs in four directions, so the arrangement of panes can be turned to suit the wall. It is not rated for a bathroom. At 21kg and 2cm deep it is a two person lift because of the length, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied.

The frame and the dividing bars are black metal, holding mirrored and textured glass, and nothing needs assembling. Clean it with cleaner on a cloth and expect the reeded panels to need more attention than the flat ones, since the ribs hold dust along their length. Esther Everaert designed it and it is made in Belgium. A version with fluted glass throughout is made in the same range if the divided window arrangement is not what the wall wants.
