Description

This is a feather cushion inner measuring 40 by 85cm, filled with a mix of duck feather and down and cased in cotton cambric. It is made by hand in the south west of England. The casing is a plain cream, with no pattern and no piping.

At 40 by 85cm this is the long rectangle of the range, the shape that runs along the back of a sofa or across the head of a bed rather than sitting square in a corner. The inners are made slightly larger than the covers on purpose, so that a cover fills out plump instead of going slack at the corners.

The filling is duck feather and down, mixed so the inner gives under weight and still holds its shape. The casing is cotton cambric, chosen because it keeps the feathers from working their way through while staying soft and breathable. The inner weighs 1.5kg. The same inner is made at 70 by 70cm, 65 by 45cm and 55 by 55cm. A cover is not included.

Frequently Asked

What size is it?

40 by 85cm.

What is it filled with?

A mix of duck feather and down, cased in cotton cambric.

Is a cover included?

No. This is the inner on its own.

Why is it larger than the cover?

That is deliberate. The inners are made slightly bigger than the covers so that a cover sits plump and full rather than slack.

How do I look after it?

Plump it and reshape it regularly. Blot any spills straight away with a sponge. If it has to be washed, use a delicate wash at 30 degrees with no detergent.
