Description
This hinged trinket box takes the form of Father Christmas on his rounds, striding across a little snowy base with a sack of gifts over his shoulder. He wears his familiar red suit with white trim at the cuffs, hem and hat, a black belt and tall brown boots, and his white beard has a soft sparkle. Peeping out of the sack are a doll in a blue dress, a toy soldier in a tall black hat and a golden horn, with a row of small clear stones along its rim. He cradles a white rabbit and a little grey mouse, holds a pink wrapped parcel and a decorated Christmas tree, and carries a small sledge at his belt. He stands 9cm tall, 5cm wide and 5.5cm deep.
At that size he sits happily on a mantelpiece, a windowsill, a sideboard or a dressing table. He stands on his own snowy base, so he needs no hook or stand. The hollow inside is small, which suits little things: a ring or a pair of earrings, a spare key, or a folded note to be found on Christmas morning. As a Christmas gift he is one to keep, put away with the decorations each January and brought out again every year.
The top half of the figure lifts away from his legs on a small hinge, so the lid stays with the box and never goes astray. Inside it is a clean white, while the outside is a glossy mix of red, warm brown and green, with gold edging along the join and a glittering white base. It is a detailed little piece, so keep it somewhere it will not be knocked, and dust it gently with a soft dry cloth. When giving it, we like to tuck a small treat inside first, so the box is opened twice on the day.

How big is the Father Christmas trinket box?
It stands 9cm tall, 5cm wide and 5.5cm deep, a small piece that sits comfortably on a mantelpiece, windowsill or dressing table.
How does the trinket box open?
The top half of the figure lifts away from the legs on a small hinge, so the lid stays attached and opens onto a white-lined hollow.
What can I keep inside it?
The hollow is small, so it suits little things such as a ring, a pair of earrings, a spare key or a folded note.
Does it need a stand or a hook?
No, Father Christmas stands on his own glittering snowy base, so he sits flat on a shelf, sideboard or table without any stand.
How should I care for it?
Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth, and keep it somewhere it will not be knocked, as the details are small and finely picked out.
Is it a good Christmas gift?
Yes, it makes a thoughtful Christmas gift, and we like to tuck a small treat inside so it is opened twice.
