Faso Black Rounded Rectangle Hall Mirror 130cm

Faso Black Hall is a wall mirror 40cm wide and 130cm tall in a black metal frame with generously rounded corners. The corners are radiused rather than mitred, so the frame runs as one continuous line round the glass instead of meeting at four points.

At 40cm wide this is a hall mirror: it fits the narrow wall beside a door or at the top of a stair where nothing wider will go. The rounded corners soften what would otherwise be a hard black rectangle, which matters at this proportion because a tall narrow frame in black can read as severe. It gives back most of a standing figure without needing the width to do it. It is not rated for a bathroom. It hangs one way up.

The frame is black metal on mirrored glass and nothing needs assembling. At 8kg it is a one person hang on the two hooks and plugs supplied, which suit plasterboard better than masonry. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth and wipe the frame dry rather than wet, since a dark finish shows water marks that a pale one hides. The radiused corners mean there is no sharp point to catch on a wall as you lift it into place, which is worth something on a mirror this long in a narrow hallway. A 40cm panel also needs less wall than it looks: the frame is slim, so allow the width of the mirror plus a hand either side and it will not feel crowded.
