EXIN PIR Ø80 2.5W LED Step Light Warm White - Grey

The EXIN is a recessed LED step light with a built-in PIR sensor, drawing 2.5W to produce 50 lumens of warm white 3000K light. It sits in a round Ø80mm format that beds into the wall face, sending a soft downward wash across the surface below rather than lighting a room. The PIR brings the fitting on as someone approaches and lets it switch off again once the area is clear, so the step is marked only when it needs to be. Built around an aluminium alloy body, it gives a low, glare-controlled level of light pitched at footing and edge definition.

Use it to pick out steps, thresholds, garden paths and the base of low walls, where the job is to show where a level changes rather than to flood an open space. Because the output is modest and aimed downward, coverage is best judged by throw across the immediate tread or step face, not by floor area, so it works in runs spaced along a flight or a path edge. The sensor suits entrances, side passages and porch steps where hands-free, motion-triggered light is useful after dark. Recess it into the wall at low level so the lens sits close to the surface it lights, keeping the beam tight to the step.

The housing is aluminium alloy in a grey finish, rated IP65 so it stands up to exposed outdoor and wet locations including direct rain. It runs on 220-240V AC mains and is recess mounted into the wall, fitting flush rather than projecting from the surface. The light is not dimmable, with the PIR handling on and off automatically, and it carries a rated lifespan of around 30,000 hours. At 120g and Ø80 by 48mm deep it needs only a shallow recess. Does the EXIN need a separate transformer or driver?

No. The EXIN runs directly from 220-240V AC mains, so it does not require a 12V transformer. Wire it into the mains supply at the point of installation following the wiring guidance supplied.

Can it be used outdoors and in wet locations?

Yes. It is rated IP65, which makes it weatherproof and suitable for exposed outdoor and wet positions, including direct rain. This covers porch steps, path edges and garden walls.

How does the PIR sensor work?

The built-in PIR detects movement nearby and switches the light on as someone approaches, then off again once the area is clear. This gives hands-free step marking after dark and avoids the fitting running continuously.

How do I clean the lens?

Wipe the lens and grey housing with a soft, damp cloth to clear dirt, dust and rain residue, and avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface. Make sure the supply is off first, and keep the lens clear so the warm white output stays bright.
