Description
The Eveready 8.8W LED GLS bulb is a direct replacement for traditional 60W incandescent bulbs, delivering 806 lumens at 4000K cool white through a standard B22 bayonet cap. The 8.8W LED consumes approximately 85% less energy than the incandescent equivalent while producing the same usable light output, rated at Energy Class F under current UK labelling standards.
Designed for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and workspaces where clear task visibility matters more than warm ambience, the 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white (2700K-3000K) and daylight (5000K-6500K). The 220° beam angle spreads light across a wide area, making the bulb suitable for ceiling pendants, table lamps and wall lights in functional rooms. The bulb operates on standard 220-240V mains and is non-dimmable, so pairing it with a dimmer switch will cause flickering or failure.
The GLS (General Lighting Service) shape matches the classic A60 bulb profile, with a 60mm diameter and 108mm overall height including the B22 cap. At 40g the bulb is light enough for pendant fittings with thin flex, and the 10,000-hour rated lifespan equates to roughly 10 years of use at 3 hours per day. The bulb contains no mercury and can be recycled through standard WEEE collection points once it reaches end of life.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable?
No. This Eveready LED is non-dimmable. Using it with a dimmer switch will cause flickering, buzzing or premature failure. If you need a dimmable B22 LED bulb, search for dimmable variants in the LED Bulbs category.
What's the difference between cool white and warm white?
Cool white (4000K) produces a neutral, slightly blue-toned light that aids concentration and task visibility, commonly used in kitchens, bathrooms and offices. Warm white (2700K-3000K) gives a softer, yellow-toned light preferred in living rooms and bedrooms for relaxation.
How long does it last?
The bulb is rated for 10,000 hours. At typical domestic use of 3 hours per day, that equates to approximately 9-10 years before the light output degrades noticeably or the bulb fails.
Does it fit standard UK lampholders?
Yes. The B22 bayonet cap is the standard UK fitting for most ceiling lights, table lamps and wall lights. The GLS shape and 60mm diameter match traditional incandescent bulbs, so it fits any lampholder that previously took a 60W incandescent.
