Description

This is a candle-shaped LED bulb with a B22 bayonet cap, the push-and-twist fitting most UK homes use on pendants, wall lights and ceiling fittings. It draws 7.3W and gives 806 lumens, which the retail pack rates as the equal of a 60W conventional bulb, putting it at the brighter end of what a candle lamp usually offers. The colour temperature is 6,500K daylight, a crisp blue-white light rather than the yellow glow of an old filament. The opal casing spreads the output evenly and keeps the diodes inside from showing as bright points.

Candle bulbs earn their keep in chandeliers, candelabra-style ceiling fittings, wall brackets and small shaded pendants, anywhere the lamp is partly on show and a rounder bulb would look wrong. It has a B22 cap, the standard 22mm bayonet with two pins that you push in and twist a quarter turn. Check the old bulb is not the smaller 15mm B15 cap, which will not fit.
