B22 LED Filament Candle Bulb 4W 470lm - Warm White 2700K - Eveready

This is a 4W LED filament candle bulb on a B22 bayonet cap, the push-and-twist fitting found on most UK pendants, wall lights and table lamps. The glass is clear and untinted, and four straight filament rods run the height of the bulb on a central stem, so the light source itself is part of the look rather than something to hide behind a shade. It fits the B22 bayonet holder, the larger of the two UK bayonet sizes, which you push in and twist a quarter turn. Check the old bulb has two pins on a metal cap roughly 22mm across; the smaller B15 (SBC) cap will not fit.

How bright is 470 lumens for a candle bulb?

The pack rates it as the equal of a 40W conventional candle bulb, which is the usual brightness people replace in a chandelier or wall light. In a fitting holding three or five lamps, the output adds up quickly.

Can I use it with a dimmer switch?

No. The specification lists it as non-dimmable and the pack prints Dimmable: No, so it needs a plain on-off switch. On a dimmer it can flicker, hum or shorten its life.

Will it fit inside a small clip shade?

The pack prints the bulb at 98mm tall and 35mm across, which is the standard candle envelope, so most clip shades and small chandelier shades take it. The glass is clear, so the filaments stay on view through an open or translucent shade.
