Description

This is a golf ball LED bulb with an E14 small screw cap, also written SES, drawing 4.9W to give 470lm of warm white light at 3,000K. The pack rates that as the equal of a 40W conventional bulb, which is the output most people are replacing when a lamp in a small shade or a chandelier arm goes dark. The dome is plain white and diffuses the light rather than showing the diodes through the glass, and the beam angle is quoted at 240 degrees, close to all round. Each box holds two bulbs.

Golf ball bulbs earn their keep where the lamp is on show or there is no room for a full sized bulb: multi arm chandeliers, small wall lights, bedside and table lamps, picture lights. Check the cap on the old bulb first, because E14 and E27 look alike in a box and are not interchangeable; E14 is the narrower screw cap, about 14mm across the threads. At 3,000K the light sits at the warm end without going amber, which suits living rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it mixes closely enough with other warm white lamps in the same fitting.
