A golf ball bulb is the small round lamp used in chandeliers, wall lights and bedside fittings, and this one draws 4.9W for an output of 470 lumens. The cap is E14, the narrow screw thread also written as SES, so check that the bulb coming out has a slim threaded base rather than the wider E27. E14 is the small screw thread, 14mm across, often labelled SES. Unscrew the old bulb and compare it: the wider screw thread is E27, and a push and twist base is a bayonet cap rather than a screw at all.

Is 470 lumens enough to replace my old 40W bulb?

Yes. The retail pack rates this lamp as the equal of a 40W conventional bulb, and 470 lumens is the measured output, so a five bulb chandelier gives you roughly the same light for a fraction of the power.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The specification states it is not dimmable, so wire it to an ordinary on and off switch. Fitting a non-dimmable LED to a dimmer circuit tends to cause flicker, buzzing or early failure.
