Description

The Eveready 4.9W LED candle bulb delivers 470 lumens of cool white 4000K light through a B22 bayonet cap fitting. The candle profile sits 110mm tall with a 53mm diameter frosted glass envelope, making it suitable for decorative fittings, wall lights and chandeliers where the bulb is visible. The 4.9W draw replaces a traditional 40W incandescent or halogen candle bulb.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways where cool white task lighting is needed, the 4000K colour temperature provides neutral white light that sits between the warmer 2700K-3000K range used for ambient lighting and the cooler 5000K+ daylight tones. The 280-degree beam angle gives wide dispersion from the bulb, reducing hard shadows under lampshades and wall sconces.

The LED chipset is rated for 10,000 hours of use and over 12,000 switching cycles, which translates to approximately 10 years of typical domestic use at 2-3 hours per day. The bulb operates on standard UK 220-240V mains supply at 50/60Hz and carries an F energy rating under the current EU/UK labelling scale. It contains no mercury and is non-dimmable.

Frequently Asked

Is this bulb dimmable?

No. This Eveready LED candle bulb is non-dimmable. Fitting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering, buzzing or premature failure. If dimming is required, choose a bulb explicitly rated as dimmable.

What fitting does it use?

B22 bayonet cap, the standard push-and-twist fitting used in most UK domestic light fittings. It is not compatible with E14 or E27 screw fittings.

What's the difference between cool white and warm white?

Cool white 4000K produces a neutral white light similar to daylight indoors, suited to task lighting in kitchens, bathrooms and offices. Warm white (2700K-3000K) gives a softer yellow-white tone closer to traditional incandescent bulbs, preferred for living rooms and bedrooms where ambient lighting is the priority.

How long will it last?

The bulb is rated for 10,000 hours of use. At 2-3 hours per day this equates to approximately 10 years before the light output degrades. The bulb can also handle over 12,000 switching cycles, so it will not fail prematurely in rooms where lights are switched on and off frequently.
