Description

This is a pygmy bulb: a short, stubby lamp on an E14 small screw cap, the size reached for when a full sized bulb will not physically fit. It draws 15W and gives 60 lumens, which is a soft pool of light rather than lighting for a whole room. The glass is clear, so the coiled filament sits in plain view and throws a bright point of light through cut glass or a pierced shade. The pack puts the colour at 2,800 Kelvins, a warm white with real yellow in it, closer to candlelight than to daylight. Each blister holds two bulbs.

The pack calls it an appliance bulb, and that is the work it is shaped for: compact fittings where a larger envelope would catch on the housing or the door.
