Description

The Eveready 15W oven bulb is a heat-resistant incandescent lamp rated to 300°C, designed for cookers, ovens and other high-temperature appliances. The bulb uses an E14 (small Edison screw) base and produces 100 lumens of warm white light at 2800K, allowing you to monitor food through the oven door without opening it and losing heat.

Fitted inside ovens, cookers and warming cabinets, the bulb's reinforced glass envelope withstands sustained high temperatures during baking, roasting and grilling cycles. The 15W power draw is typical for oven lamps and provides enough light to see through tinted or partially obscured oven glass. The non-dimmable design means the bulb operates at full brightness whenever the oven light switch is activated.

The E14 base is the standard small Edison screw fitting used in most UK and European ovens, making the bulb a direct replacement for factory-installed oven lamps. The compact bulb dimensions allow it to fit within the protective glass cover housings found in oven cavities. Eveready rates the bulb for use up to 300°C, covering standard domestic oven operating temperatures (typically 180-250°C) with headroom for cleaning cycles and higher-heat commercial use.

Frequently Asked

Will this bulb fit my oven?

The bulb uses an E14 (small Edison screw) base, which is the standard fitting in most UK and European domestic ovens. Check your existing oven bulb's base type before ordering — if it has a small screw base approximately 14mm in diameter, this bulb will fit.

Can it handle self-cleaning oven cycles?

The bulb is rated to 300°C continuous operation. Most domestic self-cleaning cycles run at 480-500°C, which exceeds the bulb's rating. Turn off the oven light during self-cleaning cycles or consult your oven manual to confirm whether the lamp housing is insulated from the cleaning cycle temperature.

Why is it incandescent rather than LED?

Most LED bulbs cannot operate reliably above 60-80°C due to driver electronics overheating. Incandescent bulbs have no electronics and their filament design tolerates sustained high temperatures, making them the appropriate technology for oven lamps.

How long does it last?

Incandescent oven bulbs typically last 1,000-2,000 hours under normal use. In ovens the bulb is only switched on when you need to check food progress, so actual runtime is low compared to room lighting, often giving several years of service before replacement is needed.
