Description
The Eveready 13.8W LED GLS bulb uses an E27 Edison screw base and delivers 1521 lumens at 4000K cool white colour temperature. The 13.8W power draw replaces a traditional 100W incandescent bulb, reducing energy consumption by approximately 86% while maintaining comparable brightness. The GLS (General Lighting Service) shape is the classic pear-shaped bulb profile that fits most standard household and commercial light fittings.
Designed for kitchens, offices, workshops, garages and utility rooms where bright, neutral-toned task lighting is needed, the 4000K cool white output sits between warm white (2700-3000K) and daylight (5000-6500K). The 200-degree beam angle provides wide, even coverage across work surfaces, reading areas and open-plan spaces without creating harsh directional shadows. The bulb is non-dimmable and operates on standard 220-240V mains voltage.
The LED construction is rated for up to 15,000 hours of continuous use — approximately 10 years at 4 hours daily use, or 15 years at 3 hours daily. The 30,000 switching cycle rating means the bulb handles frequent on-off switching in hallways, bathrooms and motion-sensor applications without premature failure. The CRI (Colour Rendering Index) of ≥80 reproduces colours accurately enough for most residential and commercial applications where precise colour matching is not critical.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable?
No. The Eveready 13.8W GLS bulb is non-dimmable. Installing it on a dimmer circuit may cause flickering, buzzing or premature failure. For dimmable E27 LED bulbs, search Niori for bulbs specifically labelled as dimmable.
What does 4000K cool white look like?
4000K sits in the neutral-to-cool range, appearing as a crisp white light without the yellow warmth of 2700-3000K bulbs or the blue-toned brightness of 5000-6500K daylight bulbs. It suits task-focused spaces like kitchens, offices and workshops where clear visibility is prioritised over ambient warmth.
How long does the bulb last?
The rated lifespan is 15,000 hours. At 3 hours daily use, that equates to approximately 15 years. At 4 hours daily, approximately 10 years. Actual lifespan depends on operating conditions, ambient temperature and switching frequency.
Can it be used in enclosed fittings?
LED bulbs generate less heat than incandescent or halogen bulbs, but enclosed fittings can still reduce lifespan if ventilation is poor. Check the fitting manufacturer's guidance on maximum wattage and LED compatibility before installing in fully enclosed or recessed luminaires.
