Description

The Etoile is a single-pendant light with a 178mm-wide bell-shaped metal shade finished in matt black on the outside and gold-painted on the inside. A gold leaf star-shaped detail sits on the cable between the ceiling rose and the shade, adding a decorative accent to the otherwise minimal design. The pendant takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and suspends on a 914mm black fabric cord.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables, bar counters and hallway zones where a single pendant provides both task and ambient light, the Etoile works in 2.4m ceiling heights with the standard cord length, and higher ceilings using the adjustable drop up to 1568mm. The gold interior reflects light back into the shade before diffusing it downward, creating a warm wash onto the surface below. The matt black exterior minimises reflections under daylight, keeping the pendant visually recessive until lit.

The bell-shaped shade tapers from a 178mm-wide opening at the base to a narrower neck, directing light downward in a focused cone rather than scattering it omnidirectionally. The gold leaf star detail on the cord is formed from cast resin and adds a small decorative reference point halfway down the drop, breaking up the vertical line. The combination of matt black and gold pairs with both modern and traditional interiors, particularly those using warm metallics, dark wood tones or black accent fixtures elsewhere in the space.

What bulb does it take?

The Etoile takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are not included. Most users fit a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for a soft ambient glow that complements the gold interior.

What's the minimum ceiling height needed?

With the standard 654mm minimum drop, the pendant suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For lower ceilings the cord cannot be shortened below 654mm without custom modification.

Can the drop be adjusted?

Yes. The 914mm cord allows adjustment up to a maximum drop of 1568mm, making the pendant suitable for double-height spaces, stairwells or vaulted ceilings where a longer drop is needed.

Is the star detail removable?

No. The gold leaf star is a fixed decorative element on the cord and cannot be removed without cutting the cable.
