Description

The ESP MagDuo is a 150mm square wall-mount fire alarm sounder in red, designed for 2-wire conventional fire alarm systems. The unit includes a built-in end-of-line resistor, removing the need for external EOL components and simplifying installation. A volume adjustment control on the device allows the output level to be set on-site to suit room size and ambient noise levels.

Designed for commercial fire alarm installations in offices, retail spaces, warehouses and residential communal areas, the MagDuo mounts directly to a wall using the included device base. The 2-wire connection means it draws power and receives trigger signals on the same pair of cables from the fire alarm panel, reducing wiring complexity compared to 4-wire sounders. The IP21C rating provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and vertically dripping water, making it suitable for internal dry locations.

The red ABS housing measures 150mm square with an 80mm projection from the wall once fitted. The grille apertures on the front face direct sound output forward into the space. The device base supplied with the unit clips onto standard UK back boxes and allows the sounder head to be removed for servicing or replacement without disconnecting the wiring.

What is the built-in end-of-line function?

The MagDuo includes an internal end-of-line resistor, which means installers do not need to fit an external EOL component at the last device on the circuit. This simplifies wiring on conventional fire alarm systems where EOL monitoring is required by the panel.

Is the volume adjustable?

Yes. A volume adjustment control on the device allows the output level to be set during commissioning to suit the room size and ambient noise. Exact dB output levels at different settings are in the datasheet linked in the Downloads tab.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP21C rating protects against vertically dripping water and solid objects larger than 12.5mm, but it is not rated for prolonged exposure to rain, UV or condensation. It is designed for internal dry locations only.

What voltage does it operate on?

The MagDuo operates on DC voltage supplied by the fire alarm panel, typically in the 9-28V DC range for conventional 2-wire systems. Check the Specification Sheet in the Downloads tab for the exact operating voltage range and current draw.
