Description
The Erga PIR is a round LED downlight with a built-in motion sensor, drawing 17W and giving up to 1600 lumens across a wide 120 degree spread. Known in the UK as a recessed downlight, it also covers the format US buyers call a recessed can light, dropping into the ceiling to sit flush with the surface. Colour temperature is selectable across 3000K, 4000K and 6500K, so the same fitting can read warm, neutral or daylight depending on the setting chosen at install. The integrated PIR triggers the light on movement, which suits spaces where hands-free switching is useful.
Measuring 230mm across and only 23mm deep, this downlight works well in hallways, landings, utility rooms and storage cupboards where automatic on-and-off saves leaving lights running. At general lighting levels it covers around 5 m², so several units spaced across a larger room build up even illumination without dark patches. The sensor makes it a practical fit for transit areas like entrance halls and corridors, where the light comes on as you pass and switches off once the space is clear. It is an indoor fitting and should be kept clear of damp or exposed locations.
The body is moulded plastic in a white finish, with an IP20 rating that keeps it to dry indoor positions only. It can be recessed into the ceiling or mounted to a wall or ceiling surface, giving some flexibility in how it is fixed. The driver is integrated, this model is not dimmable, and the LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours of service. The Erga range includes further sensor and non-sensor downlights to match across a scheme.

Frequently Asked
How is the colour temperature selected?
The Erga PIR is colour selectable between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6500K daylight. The tone is chosen at the point of installation using the fitting's selector, so you set it once to suit the room rather than switching it day to day.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This downlight carries an IP20 rating, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any exposed or sheltered-outdoor positions where moisture could reach it.
Is the Erga PIR dimmable?
No, this model is not dimmable. The integrated PIR sensor handles switching instead, bringing the light on when movement is detected and turning it off again once the area is clear.
How do I clean the fitting?
Switch off the power and let the unit cool, then wipe the white plastic face with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, as these can mark the finish or cloud the diffuser over time.
