Description

The Equinoxe is a single blown-glass sphere hung on a slim cable from a small round ceiling rose. The glass is graded, or sfumato, running from clear at the base to a soft smoke grey at the top, so the G4 capsule inside shows as a small warm point held in tinted glass rather than a bare bulb. Lit, it reads as a glowing orb with a gentle fall of colour through the glass; unlit, it sits as a quiet smoked ball on its chrome fitting.

This is the smallest of the globes at 150mm across, so it works singly over a bedside table or a hallway console, or repeated in a row over a kitchen island or a stairwell where several small spheres can hang at staggered heights. The drop adjusts from 530mm up to 2280mm, so the height can be set to the ceiling and the surface below.

The structure is plated metal in a chrome finish with a black PVC cable, and the diffuser is clear borosilicate glass with the smoke fade applied. It takes one G4 capsule at up to 2W, and the lamp is included, so it lights the moment it is wired. Rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so we would have an electrician make the connection.

A soft, contained glow. The single G4 capsule sits inside a graded smoke-grey glass sphere, so the light reads as a warm point held in tinted glass rather than a bright bare bulb. It gives a gentle pool of light rather than a wide wash.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. One G4 capsule lamp at up to 2W is included, so the pendant arrives ready to wire and light.

Can it be dimmed?

There is no built-in dimmer. Because it uses a standard G4 capsule, it can be dimmed by fitting a dimmable G4 lamp on a compatible dimmer. We can advise on suitable lamps.

How big is it and where does it suit?

The glass sphere is 150mm across, with a drop adjustable from 530mm to 2280mm. At this size it suits a bedside, a hallway console or a small nook, and several can be hung together over an island or in a stairwell.
