Description

The Equinoxe is a cluster of three blown-glass spheres hung at staggered heights from a single round ceiling rose. The glass here is graded, or sfumato, running from clear at the base to a soft smoke grey at the top, so each G4 capsule shows as a small warm point held in tinted glass rather than a bare bulb. Lit, it reads as three glowing orbs with a gentle fall of colour through the glass; unlit, it sits as three smoked balls on a bright chrome fitting.

The three globes measure 420mm across as a group and hang between 725mm and 2000mm, so the cluster can be set low over a dining table or a kitchen island, or lifted for a hallway or stairwell. The staggered drop is what gives it movement, with each sphere set at its own height rather than in a flat row.

The structure is plated metal in a chrome finish with black PVC cables, and the diffusers are clear borosilicate glass with the smoke fade applied. Each of the three G4 capsules is included, so it lights the moment it is wired. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so we would have an electrician make the connection.

A soft, contained spread. Each of the three G4 capsules sits inside a graded smoke-grey sphere, so the light reads as a warm point held in tinted glass rather than a bright bare bulb. Together the three globes give a gentle, decorative glow.

Does it come with bulbs?

Yes. All three G4 capsule lamps are included at up to 2W each, so the pendant arrives ready to wire and light on its cables.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the G4 capsules fitted. With dimmable G4 lamps on a compatible transformer and dimmer the light can be lowered; the fitting has no integrated driver.

Where does it suit best?

The three-globe cluster is 420mm across and hangs from 725mm to 2000mm, so it works over a dining table or a kitchen island, or set higher in a hallway or stairwell where the smoked spheres can be seen from below.
