Equinoxe 12 Light Chandelier - Amber Glass

The Equinoxe spreads twelve hand-finished glass spheres across thin antique-brass arms that radiate from a central stem at staggered heights, each sphere fading from clear to a soft amber so the whole fitting looks like a cloud of suspended droplets. Every sphere takes a small G4 lamp, and lit, the amber glass warms the light and scatters it gently around the room, an effect that is decorative and glittering rather than a flood of task light.

Unlit, it holds its shape as a wide sculptural cluster, the brass arms and graduated amber glass reading as a centrepiece in their own right. It is a large fitting at 1281mm across and up to 914mm tall, with the spheres set at different levels on their arms and hung from a round antique-brass ceiling plate on a black cable.

We would hang it over a large dining table, in a stairwell or in a double-height hallway where the spread of spheres can be seen from below and around. Bulbs are included, so it lights the moment it is wired in, and at IP20 it is for dry indoor rooms, so we would have an electrician make the connection.

Is this task lighting or decorative?

It is decorative. The faded amber glass gives a warm, glittering light and a sculptural centrepiece rather than bright, even task light.

Does it come with bulbs?

Yes. It takes twelve G4 lamps (max 2W each) and they are included, so it works as soon as it is wired in. You can fit warm LED G4 lamps in your preferred colour later.

How big is it and where does it suit?

It is a large fitting, 1281mm across and up to 914mm tall, so it suits a big dining table, a stairwell or a tall hallway where it is seen from below and around.

Can it be dimmed?

The fitting has no dimming of its own; whether it dims depends on the G4 LED lamps you choose and a compatible dimmer.
