Description
The Energizer T8 30W 6ft LED tube is a direct retrofit replacement for traditional 1800mm fluorescent tubes, delivering 3600 lumens from 30W with a colour temperature switch built into the end cap. The switch allows selection between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6500K daylight on installation, so a single tube specification can adapt to different room requirements without needing separate stock for each colour temperature.
Designed for commercial, industrial and large residential spaces where fluorescent tube fittings are already installed, the T8 30W fits standard G13 bi-pin lamp holders. The retrofit process typically involves removing the existing fluorescent tube and starter, bypassing or removing the ballast, and wiring the LED tube directly to mains. The non-dimmable driver sits inside the tube body, and the tube draws 30W continuously when powered.
The 1800mm length and 3600-lumen output suit warehouses, workshops, retail stockrooms, underground car parks and factory floors where high-bay or suspended fluorescent battens are the existing light source. The tube operates at 50-60Hz on 220-240V mains and carries an Energy Rating of E. The frosted polycarbonate diffuser distributes light evenly across the 360-degree tube circumference, providing wide coverage without hot spots.
Each tube ships with the colour temperature switch pre-set to one of the three options. The switch can be toggled before or during installation by sliding the selector on the end cap, but the tube must be powered off before changing the setting. Once the switch position is set and the tube is installed, the selected colour temperature remains fixed until manually changed.

Frequently Asked
How is the colour temperature changed?
A physical switch on the tube end cap allows selection between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K. The switch must be set before the tube is powered on, or the tube must be switched off at mains before changing the setting. The switch position is then fixed until manually changed again.
Does this work with existing fluorescent fittings?
Yes, as a retrofit. The tube fits standard G13 bi-pin lamp holders used in fluorescent battens and suspended fittings. However, the existing ballast and starter must be bypassed or removed, and the tube wired directly to mains. This typically requires a qualified electrician unless you are competent with mains wiring.
What's the beam angle?
The frosted polycarbonate diffuser distributes light around the full 360-degree circumference of the tube, giving wide coverage suitable for overhead mounting in warehouses, workshops and commercial spaces. There is no focused beam as with directional spotlights.
Is this dimmable?
No. The tube runs at full 30W output when powered and is not compatible with dimmer switches or controls.
