Description

The Energizer T8 is an 18W 4ft LED tube with adjustable colour temperature, switchable between 3000K warm white, 4000K cool white and 6500K daylight via a selector on the base cap. The tube outputs 2160 lumens and retrofits directly into standard T8 fluorescent fittings when the starter and ballast are bypassed for direct mains connection.

Designed for commercial, workshop and garage use where lighting needs change between tasks, the adjustable CCT function allows a single tube type to provide warm ambient light for rest areas, neutral cool white for general visibility, or bright daylight for detailed inspection work. The tube is non-dimmable and runs on 230V mains once the existing fluorescent ballast is removed and wiring is converted to direct LED operation.

The 1200mm length and standard G13 bi-pin base fit the majority of UK commercial and domestic T8 fluorescent fixtures manufactured from the 1980s onwards. The frosted polycarbonate outer diffuses the LED strip evenly along the length of the tube, avoiding the striped appearance of cheaper LED tubes. At 18W consumption for 2160lm output, the tube delivers 120lm/W, comparable to other mid-range retrofit LED tubes in the E energy rating band.

How do I change the colour temperature?

The CCT selector is on the base cap of the tube, accessible before installation. A small switch allows you to choose between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K. Once the tube is installed in the fitting, the colour temperature is fixed until the tube is removed and the switch is changed.
