Description
The Energizer Max AAA is a 1.5V alkaline battery sold in a 12-pack (8 standard plus 4 bonus cells). Each LR03 cell uses Energizer's PowerSeal leak-proof construction, which holds electrolyte inside the cell casing even when depleted, protecting the device terminals from corrosion. The batteries are supplied pre-charged and ready to use straight from the pack.
AAA cells fit devices that require compact power sources with lower current draw than AA cells, including remote controls, wireless keyboards and mice, LED torches, thermostats, clocks and smaller toys. The Max range is formulated for general-purpose use across both continuous-drain devices (clocks, remotes) and intermittent-drain devices (torches, battery-powered doorbells). Each cell delivers consistent 1.5V output until depletion, with no memory effect or voltage fade during storage.
The 12-pack format reduces per-cell cost and ensures spares are available when a device runs flat. Energizer quotes a 10-year shelf life from manufacture, meaning unopened packs retain full capacity for a decade when stored at room temperature. The PowerSeal technology uses a triple-seal canister design that passed Energizer's internal zero-leak guarantee testing, reducing the risk of white alkaline crust forming on battery contacts inside torches or remotes left unused for months.
The Max range sits below Energizer Ultimate Lithium (lighter, longer-lasting, higher cost) and above Energizer Power (economy alkaline). For most household AAA applications — TV remotes, bathroom scales, wall clocks — the Max provides sufficient capacity without the premium cost of lithium cells. The 8+4 bonus pack delivers better value per cell than single or 4-packs while keeping the total pack size compact enough to store in a kitchen drawer or toolbox.

Frequently Asked
What's the shelf life?
Energizer quotes a 10-year shelf life from manufacture for Max alkaline batteries. Unopened packs stored at room temperature retain full capacity for a decade, making them suitable for emergency kits and spare battery drawers.
Are these rechargeable?
No. Energizer Max AAA cells are single-use alkaline batteries. Attempting to recharge alkaline cells can cause leakage or rupture. For rechargeable AAA cells, look for NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) batteries instead.
What devices are these suited for?
AAA cells fit devices requiring compact, lower-current power: remote controls, wireless keyboards and mice, LED torches, bathroom scales, wall clocks, thermostats, smaller toys and battery-powered doorbells. For higher-drain devices like digital cameras or high-output torches, AA cells or lithium AAA cells provide better performance.
What's the difference between Max and Ultimate Lithium?
Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA cells are lighter, last longer in high-drain devices, perform better in extreme cold, and cost more. Energizer Max alkaline cells provide good general-purpose performance at a lower cost per cell, making them more economical for everyday household use.
