Description

This is Energizer's Hardcase Professional head torch, an LED unit rated at 325 lumens with its battery compartment and optics built into a single moulded housing. The body is black with orange detailing and it rides on a wide strap with a non-slip lining, so it stays put on a bare head or over a hat. Two small emitters sit either side of a larger lens across the front face. Three AA alkaline cells come in the pack, so there is nothing else to buy before the first use, and the pack states an IPX4 rating.

325 lumens is a working figure rather than a keyring figure: enough to light a loft, a fuse board, the back of a boiler or a dark footpath, while leaving both hands free. Universal helmet attachments are included in the pack, which is what separates this from a plain elasticated headband, so it clips to a site helmet or a climbing lid as well as sitting on the strap.
