Description
The Energizer G13 22W 5ft LED tube is a T8 retrofit replacement delivering 2,400 lumens at 6,500K daylight white colour temperature. The tube uses a G13 bi-pin cap and operates on 220-240V mains via a compatible LED starter (included), replacing traditional fluorescent tubes without requiring ballast rewiring in most fixtures.
Designed for workshops, warehouses, garages, commercial kitchens and retail backrooms where high-output task lighting is needed, the 6,500K colour temperature provides clear, clinical white light that supports detail work and colour accuracy. The 170° beam angle distributes light evenly along the full 1,500mm length of the tube, reducing shadowing under shelving or benches.
The full-glass construction is coated with a shatterproof protective layer, adding safety in environments where breakage is a risk. The tube is powered by an internal IC driver that eliminates flicker, reducing eye strain during extended work periods. At 100 lumens per watt efficiency, the 22W tube replaces a 58W T8 fluorescent equivalent while drawing 62% less power.
The non-dimmable design suits standard on/off switching in industrial and commercial installations. The tube weighs 300g and slots directly into existing T8 fittings once the LED starter has been fitted.

Frequently Asked
Can this tube replace my existing fluorescent T8?
Yes, in most cases. The tube uses a G13 bi-pin cap and fits standard T8 fittings. An LED starter is included and must be fitted in place of the old fluorescent starter. Some older ballast-only fittings may require rewiring to bypass the ballast — consult a qualified electrician if uncertain.
What colour is the light?
The 6,500K colour temperature produces a cool daylight white light, similar to overcast natural daylight. This is cooler and more clinical than the 4,000K neutral white found in offices, making it well-suited to workshops and task-oriented spaces.
Is it safe if the tube breaks?
The glass is coated with a shatterproof protective layer that holds fragments together if the tube is broken, reducing the risk of glass scatter. However, the tube should still be handled with care during installation and disposal.
Does it flicker?
No. The IC driver eliminates flicker, making the tube suitable for environments where prolonged lighting is required without causing eye strain.
