Energizer LED Tube Bulb G13 1500mm 22W Non-Dimmable - Daylight 6500K

This is a 5ft LED tube, 1500mm end to end, with the G13 bi-pin cap that T8 fluorescent battens have used for decades. It draws 22W, and the retail pack states 2840 lumens at 6,500K. The body is frosted rather than clear, so light comes off the whole length as an even band instead of a row of bright points, and the 170 degree beam angle spreads it wide across the fitting below. An LED tube reaches full brightness the moment it is switched on, with none of the flicker or slow warm up a fluorescent tube goes through on a cold morning.

Daylight white at 6,500K is the coolest of the common temperatures, close to an overcast midday sky, and it reads crisp and faintly blue next to the yellower 2700K of a living room lamp. That makes it a working light. Garages, workshops, utility rooms, stockrooms, garden offices and busy kitchens all suit it, because cool white light makes edges, labels and colours easier to pick out than a warm bulb does. With the wide 170 degree spread, a single 5ft tube covers a good width of floor, and two of them hung a couple of metres apart will cover a single garage without dark corners. It is not the light for a bedroom, where a warm white is kinder.

It is not dimmable, so run it from a plain on/off switch rather than a dimmer circuit. The IP20 rating means dry indoor locations only. Energizer prints no rated lifespan and no equivalent fluorescent wattage on this pack, and if you are replacing a tube in an older batten it is worth having the existing control gear checked first. Will this fit my existing 5ft fluorescent batten?
