Description

The Energizer 9W 2ft G13 LED tube delivers 900 lumens at 6500K daylight colour temperature through a full glass construction with shatterproof coating. The G13 cap fits standard T8 fluorescent tube fixtures, allowing direct retrofit when paired with the included LED starter, which bypasses or removes the existing ballast during installation.

Designed for offices, workshops, retail spaces, kitchens and garages where bright task lighting is needed, the 6500K output provides high colour rendering that supports detailed work such as reading documents, inspecting components, or displaying merchandise. The 170° beam angle distributes light evenly along the 600mm tube length without dark spots at the ends. Flicker-free operation reduces eye strain during extended periods under the light.

The shatterproof coating over the glass tube adds impact resistance for installations in busy environments where accidental knocks or vibration are common. The tube weighs 140g and draws 9W on 230V mains, replacing a traditional 18W T8 fluorescent tube while providing comparable brightness. Non-dimmable operation simplifies wiring and avoids compatibility issues with dimmer switches.

What fluorescent tube does this replace?

This 9W LED tube replaces a traditional 18W T8 fluorescent tube of the same 600mm (2ft) length. The brightness at 900 lumens is comparable to the fluorescent output while drawing half the wattage.

Does it require an LED starter?

Yes. An LED starter is included in the pack. During installation, remove the existing fluorescent starter from the fixture and replace it with the provided LED starter. Some fixtures may require ballast removal for full compatibility — check the installation instructions.

Is 6500K too bright for home use?

The 6500K daylight colour temperature is cooler and bluer than typical home lighting (2700K-3000K warm white). It works well in garages, workshops, utility rooms and kitchens where task lighting is the priority. For living rooms and bedrooms, a warmer 3000K or 4000K tube may be more comfortable.

What is the shatterproof coating?

The glass tube is covered with a transparent polymer coating that holds the glass together if the tube is broken, reducing the risk of sharp fragments scattering. This adds safety in commercial and industrial environments.
