Description

This is a bayonet cap LED bulb in the classic GLS shape, the rounded pear form that has been the standard household bulb for decades. It draws 8.5W and gives 806 lumens, which the retail pack rates as a 60W replacement. The colour temperature is 6500K, sold as daylight: a crisp, blue leaning white rather than the yellow of an old filament lamp. The cap is B22, the two pin bayonet fitting you push and twist rather than screw. Energizer supplies them in a box of four, so a whole room can be done at once.

Daylight white at this level suits places where you want to see clearly rather than settle in. Kitchens, utility rooms, garages, workshops, sewing corners and home offices all take it well, and it makes colours read closer to true, which matters when you are matching paint, checking laundry or working on something fiddly. The 240 degree beam spreads light nearly all the way round the bulb, so it works in a pendant with an open or translucent shade and in a plain ceiling fitting where the light needs to reach the corners. In living rooms and bedrooms most people prefer a warmer 2700K; this one is a working light.
