Description

The Energizer 7.3W LED GLS bulb delivers 806 lumens of 6500K daylight white light through a standard B22 bayonet cap fitting. The bulb draws 7.3W on 230V mains, replacing traditional 60W incandescent bulbs with an energy rating of E. The GLS (General Lighting Service) shape follows the classic A60 bulb profile, fitting any fixture designed for traditional bulbs.

Designed for task-oriented spaces where bright, clear light is needed, the 6500K colour temperature suits kitchens, home offices, garages, workshops and bathrooms. The crisp daylight tone renders colours accurately and reduces eye strain during focused work compared to warmer colour temperatures. The B22 bayonet cap fits UK standard lamp holders with a quarter-turn push-and-twist action, compatible with table lamps, ceiling pendants, wall lights and recessed downlights accepting GLS bulbs.

The frosted glass envelope diffuses light evenly across the bulb surface, preventing glare from exposed filament-style LEDs. At 806 lumens output the bulb provides sufficient ambient light for rooms up to 12-15m², or focused task light for worktops and desks. The Energizer branding indicates a 15-year lifespan based on average domestic use of 3 hours per day, reducing replacement frequency compared to halogen and incandescent alternatives.

Frequently Asked

Is this bulb dimmable?

No. Despite the product packaging image showing a 'dimmable' label, the specification table confirms this bulb is non-dimmable. Using it with a dimmer switch may cause flickering or damage to the bulb.

What's the difference between 6500K daylight and warmer colour temperatures?

6500K produces a crisp, blue-white light similar to midday sun, which enhances concentration and colour accuracy. Warmer temperatures like 2700K-3000K produce a yellower, softer light preferred for living rooms and bedrooms. Daylight bulbs suit task lighting in kitchens, offices and workshops.

Will this fit standard UK lamp holders?

Yes. The B22 bayonet cap is the standard UK fitting, compatible with the majority of UK domestic light fittings. It pushes in and twists a quarter-turn to lock, the same action as traditional incandescent bulbs.

How long does the bulb last?

Energizer rates this bulb at 15 years lifespan based on 3 hours use per day, equating to approximately 16,425 hours of total operation. Actual lifespan depends on usage patterns and switching frequency.
