Energizer LED GLS E27 7.2W Filament Non-Dimmable - Warm White 2700K

This is a GLS bulb with an E27 screw cap, the round-shouldered shape that sits in most standard household fittings. Inside the clear glass are LED filaments arranged in upright loops, so the lit look stays close to an old incandescent bulb while the draw is 7.2W. It gives 1521 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, and the retail pack gives it as a 100W replacement. The energy label carries a class A rating at 8kWh per 1000 hours. It is not dimmable.

Clear filament bulbs earn their place where the bulb is on show: a pendant on a bare flex, an open-bottomed shade, a glass lantern, a cage fitting or a table lamp that leaves the glass visible. The GLS shape throws light in all directions rather than down a cone, so one in a central pendant lifts a whole room rather than a patch of floor. At 1521 lumens it is bright enough to be the only bulb in a small bedroom, hallway or home office, and it works as the main light in a larger living room with lamps for the corners.

Before you buy, check the cap on the bulb you are replacing: E27 is the larger screw cap, about 27mm across the thread, while E14 is the narrower one used in most small candle fittings. Because this bulb is non-dimmable it needs a plain on/off switch; on a dimmer or a smart dimming module it may flicker, buzz or fail to start, and running it that way shortens its life. The pack prints a 50 year lifespan. One unit is a single bulb, and the minimum order is 12, sold in multiples of 12. Will this fit my existing light fitting?

It fits any E27 screw cap holder, the larger of the two common screw sizes at about 27mm across the thread. If the old bulb twists and locks with two pins instead, that is a bayonet cap and this one will not fit.

How bright is 1521 lumens, and what does 2700K look like in a room?

1521 lumens is the output people associate with an old 100W bulb, enough to light a small room on its own. At 2700K the light is warm and slightly yellow, close to the tone of a traditional incandescent rather than the crisper white of an office tube.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The pack marks it non dimmable, so it needs a plain on/off switch. Fitted to a dimmer or a smart dimming module it may flicker, buzz or fail to start, and it will not run as long.

Is an IP rating given for this bulb?

The manufacturer does not state one, either in the specification or on the retail pack, so we quote no IP figure. Treat it as a standard indoor lamp for ordinary enclosed or open fittings.

How many bulbs do I receive, and is there a minimum order?

Each unit is one bulb in its own retail box. The minimum order on this listing is 12 units, sold in multiples of 12, so the smallest purchase is twelve individual bulbs.

Does it come on at full brightness straight away?

Yes. LED filaments reach their full output as soon as the switch is thrown, with none of the warm up time older energy saving lamps needed before a room looked properly lit.
