E27 (ES) LED Filament Globe Bulb 5W 550lm - Warm White 2200K

This is a 5W LED filament globe with an E27 screw cap, sometimes written ES, and gold tinted glass that keeps the straight filament bars on show. The G95 code names the glass rather than the fitting: a globe roughly 95mm across, rounder and wider than a standard household bulb, so the bulb is meant to be seen rather than hidden. It draws 5W and gives 550lm, which the pack gives as a replacement for a 40W incandescent bulb. The light is 2200K, printed on the pack as Vintage: a deep amber closer to candlelight than to ordinary warm white.

The gold glass and the wide 320 degree spread suit open fittings: a pendant hung low over a dining table, a cluster of bare flexes in a hallway, a bedside lamp with an open shade, or a caged wall light where the glass is part of the look. Because the tint softens the filament, it is comfortable to sit near at eye level, which matters in a stairwell or above a kitchen island. The IP20 rating puts it in dry indoor rooms only. Where you need working light to read or chop by, a cooler and brighter bulb will serve better; this one is for the atmosphere of a room after dark.

There is no dimming: the pack marks it non dimmable, so wire it to a standard switch rather than a trailing or wall dimmer, where a non dimmable lamp can flicker, buzz or shorten its life. Will this fit my lamp holder?

It takes an E27 holder, the larger of the two screw caps, which UK suppliers also label ES or Edison screw. Unscrew the old bulb and check the thread is the wide one rather than the smaller E14.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The pack marks it non dimmable, so it needs a plain on or off switch. On a dimmer circuit a non dimmable lamp can flicker, buzz or stop working sooner than it should.

How bright is 5W in practice?

It gives 550lm, and the pack gives that as a replacement for a 40W incandescent bulb. That is glow rather than task light, which is what most people want from a filament globe on show.

What does 2200K actually look like?

Deep amber, the colour the pack calls Vintage. It reads warmer and more golden than standard warm white LED bulbs, and the gold tinted glass pushes the light further in that direction.

How much room does the glass need?

The G95 code describes a globe of around 95mm in diameter, so measure any shade, cage or glass surround before ordering. It is wider than a standard GLS bulb and will not sit inside a slim shade.
