Description

A 5W LED filament bulb in the G80 globe shape, with a gold tint to the glass and slim filament bars standing up through the middle. G80 is the trade code for a globe of roughly 80mm across, so this is noticeably bigger than a standard household bulb and it is built to be looked at rather than hidden behind a shade. It gives 550 lumens at 2200K, and the cap is E27, the larger of the two screw fittings used in the UK.

Open pendants, bare flex drops, cluster fittings and glass cage lanterns all suit a bulb this size, because the shape and the filament pattern are part of the look. At 2200K the light is warmer than the 2700K warm white most households buy, closer to a candle flame or an old carbon filament lamp, and the gold tint pulls it further that way. It flatters brick, timber, brass and dark paint, and it sets a room to a low evening mood rather than a working brightness. Over a dining table, in a hallway or above a bar counter, it does its best work.
