E27 (ES) LED Filament Globe Bulb 5W 470lm - Warm White 2200K

This is a G125 globe bulb with an E27 screw cap and a gold-tinted glass envelope, drawing 5W and giving 470 lumens. G125 is the code for a 125mm globe, which makes it one of the larger decorative shapes and considerably bigger than a standard household bulb. The LED elements sit as straight filament rods running up the centre of the glass, so the bulb keeps the wire-in-glass look of an old filament lamp while running on 5W. The colour temperature is 2200K, the amber end of warm white.

A bulb this size is meant to be seen rather than hidden. It suits open pendants, a bare flex and ceiling rose, cage and cluster fittings, and any shade with an open bottom where the glass sits proud. The gold tint takes the edge off the filament glare, so it is comfortable to look at directly above a dining table, a kitchen island or a stairwell. At 2200K the light reads amber rather than crisp, closer to candlelight than to a typical warm white bulb, so it flatters wood, brick and brass and suits atmosphere more than close work.
