Description

The Energizer LED golf ball bulb delivers 470 lumens of 2700K warm white light through visible LED filaments housed in a compact 45mm diameter clear glass globe. The 4W LED replaces a traditional 40W incandescent golf ball bulb, fitting an E27 Edison screw base and drawing less than a tenth of the power while producing comparable light output.

Designed for table lamps, wall sconces, pendant fittings and decorative ceiling fixtures where the bulb is visible or partially exposed, the clear glass and filament styling give a traditional incandescent appearance when lit. The golf ball shape suits compact lampshades and smaller apertures where a standard A60 bulb would be too large. The non-dimmable circuitry is optimised for mains switching only — pairing with a dimmer may cause flicker or damage the bulb.

The 2700K colour temperature sits in the warm white range, producing light with a slight amber cast that pairs well with wood, brass and warm-toned interiors. The rated 15-year lifespan assumes 3 hours daily use and reflects typical LED longevity in domestic applications. The Energy Rating E indicates mid-range efficiency within current LED classifications — suitable for decorative applications where the visible filament justifies slightly lower efficiency than opaque LED bulbs.

Frequently Asked

Can this bulb be used with a dimmer switch?

No. The bulb is non-dimmable and should only be used with standard on/off switching. Using it with a dimmer may cause flicker, buzzing or premature failure.

What is the physical size of the bulb?

Golf ball bulbs typically measure 45mm in diameter and approximately 80mm in total height including the E27 base. This compact size suits smaller lampshades and decorative fittings where a full-size A60 bulb would be too large.

How does 470 lumens compare to older incandescent bulbs?

470 lumens is roughly equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb. For context, a 60W incandescent produces around 700-800 lumens, and a 25W incandescent around 220-250 lumens.

What does the 15-year lifespan mean in practice?

The 15-year rating assumes the bulb runs for approximately 3 hours per day. If used more heavily — for example 6 hours daily in a living room table lamp — the lifespan would halve to around 7-8 years.
