Description

A bayonet cap LED bulb in the classic GLS shape, the rounded pear outline most people picture when they think of a light bulb. The glass carries a gold tint, so the bulb reads amber even when it is switched off, and the slim filament strands inside are meant to be looked at rather than hidden. It draws 4W and gives 440 lumens, which the retail pack rates as the equal of a 40W incandescent bulb. Colour temperature is 2,700K warm white, the softer end of the scale.

B22 is the UK bayonet cap: two small pins on the side of a smooth metal base that push in and twist a quarter turn to lock. If your old bulb pushed and twisted rather than screwed in, this is the cap you need. The gold glass and open filaments suit fittings that leave the bulb on show, so think of a pendant flex over a kitchen island, a bare batten in a hallway, or a cage shade that is open at the bottom. Behind a closed opal shade the tint is lost, and 440 lumens is modest, so treat it as a light to look at as much as one to work by.

If the cap on your old bulb has two pins on the side and locks with a push and a quarter turn, it is a B22 and this bulb will go straight in.

Can I put this on a dimmer switch?
