This is a golf ball LED bulb with a B22 bayonet cap, the push and twist fitting that most UK ceiling roses and older table lamps use. It draws 4.2W and gives 470 lumens, which the pack rates as the replacement for a 40W incandescent. The light is 6500K daylight, the coolest and whitest of the standard colour temperatures, reading slightly blue rather than the yellow of a traditional filament. The opal outer sits over the diodes so the dome glows evenly instead of showing bright points, which matters on any fitting where the bulb is on show.

Daylight at 6500K is a working light rather than a restful one. What does 6500K daylight actually look like in a room?

Can I put this on a dimmer switch?
