This is a candle-shaped LED lamp on an E27 screw cap, the larger of the two screw fittings found in UK homes. It draws 4.2W and gives 470 lumens, which the pack sets against a 40W incandescent candle bulb. Its colour temperature is 6,500K, sold as daylight: a crisp, faintly blue-white light with none of the yellow a warm white lamp puts out. The body is solid white rather than clear, so the LED chips inside read as an even glow instead of bright points.

E27 candle lamps turn up in chandeliers, wall brackets and larger table lamps, and the 240 degree beam angle means the light spreads around the bulb rather than firing forward in a cone. That wide spread suits a shade or a glass fitting you want lit evenly. Daylight at 6,500K is a working light rather than a restful one, so it earns its keep in a kitchen, a utility room, a garage or over a desk, and it shows up colours more honestly than warm white does, which helps when you are matching paint or thread. Will this fit my light fitting?

It takes an E27 cap, the larger screw fitting also written as ES. Unscrew the old bulb and check the thread measures about 27mm across; if it is nearer 14mm you need an E14 (SES) lamp instead.

How does 6,500K daylight compare with warm white?

It is a much cooler, whiter light. Warm white sits around 2,700K and looks yellow beside it, so avoid mixing the two in the same room or fitting.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. It is non-dimmable, so it needs a plain on/off switch. On a dimmed circuit it may flicker, buzz or fail early, even at full brightness.

Is 470 lumens bright enough to replace an old 40W candle bulb?

Yes. The pack rates it as a 40W replacement, and 470 lumens is the usual output for that swap while drawing only 4.2W from the supply.

Does the 240 degree beam angle matter in a chandelier?

It helps. The light leaves the bulb over a wide arc rather than in a forward cone, so a multi-arm fitting or a glass shade lights evenly from every side.

How long should one bulb last?

The retail pack prints a 15,000 hour lifespan. Switching frequency, heat inside an enclosed shade and supply quality all affect how close any lamp gets to a printed figure.
