Description
The Energizer G9 LED capsule bulb delivers 470 lumens from a 4.2W LED chip, replacing traditional 40W G9 halogen bulbs at a tenth of the running cost. The 6500K daylight white colour temperature produces a crisp, bright light suited to task-oriented spaces where clarity matters — offices, workshops, kitchen worktops, bathroom mirrors and hallways.
Each bulb measures approximately 50mm in length with a 15mm diameter capsule body, making it compatible with G9 fixtures including ceiling downlights, wall sconces, under-cabinet strips and decorative fittings where a compact bulb is needed. The twin-pin G9 base fits directly into the socket without twisting. The non-dimmable design means the bulb operates at full output on standard mains switching and is not compatible with dimmer circuits.
The 15-year rated lifespan assumes 3 hours daily use, equating to approximately 16,500 hours of operation before the LED output degrades to 70% of initial brightness. The clear capsule housing allows maximum light transmission without the yellowing or heat buildup associated with halogen equivalents. Sold as a 2-pack, giving immediate spares for twin-bulb fittings or staged replacements across multiple rooms.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable?
No. This Energizer G9 LED is designed for standard on/off switching only and will not function correctly on dimmer circuits. Using it with a dimmer may cause flickering or damage the bulb.
What does 6500K daylight white look like?
6500K produces a crisp, blue-tinted white light similar to overcast daylight. It appears noticeably cooler and brighter than the 2700K-3000K warm white used in living rooms, making it better suited to task lighting in kitchens, bathrooms and workspaces where colour accuracy and alertness are priorities.
Will this fit my existing G9 halogen fixture?
Yes. The G9 twin-pin base is a direct replacement for halogen G9 bulbs. The capsule measures approximately 50mm long and 15mm wide, which fits most standard G9 sockets. Check your fixture's bulb compartment depth if the fitting has a very shallow recess.
How much energy does this save compared to halogen?
A 4.2W LED replacing a 40W halogen uses 89% less electricity. Over the 15-year rated lifespan, one bulb running 3 hours daily saves approximately 195 kWh, which at current UK average electricity rates equates to around £66 in reduced running costs per bulb.
