B22 (BC) LED Bulb 24.9W 3452lm Non-Dimmable - Warm White 2700K

This is a bayonet cap LED bulb in the familiar GLS shape, the rounded pear outline that has sat in British pendants and ceiling roses for generations. It draws 24.9 watts and gives 3452 lumens, which puts it well above the output of an ordinary household bulb and into the territory of a single lamp lighting a whole room on its own. The colour temperature is 2700K warm white, the soft yellow leaning tone most people associate with a living room rather than an office. The energy rating is D, and the pack states that it replaces a 200W bulb.

That output makes most sense where one bulb is doing all the work: a hall or landing pendant, a stairwell, a large open plan kitchen, a garage, a workshop or a utility room. It is just as useful in a shade over a dining table if you have found ordinary bulbs leave the room dim by evening. Will this fit my existing light fitting?

It takes a B22 bayonet cap, the two pin cap you push in and twist a quarter turn. If the old bulb screwed in, that is an E27 and this one will not fit.

How bright is 3452 lumens in practice?

Bright enough for one pendant to light a large room on its own. The pack quotes it as a 200W replacement, so expect considerably more light than a typical single household bulb.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The specification gives it as non dimmable, so it belongs on a plain on and off switch. On a dimmer circuit a non dimmable lamp can flicker, buzz or fail early.

What does 2700K warm white actually look like?

A soft, slightly yellow light close to the tone of an old filament bulb. It flatters wood, warm paint colours and fabric, and reads as relaxing rather than clinical.
