Description
The Energizer 24.9W LED GLS bulb delivers 3452 lumens of 6500K daylight through a standard GLS (general lamp service) globe form with a B22 bayonet cap. At 24.9W consumption the bulb provides output comparable to a 200W halogen or incandescent, making it a direct retrofit for high-output applications where bright, neutral-white light is needed.
Designed for workshops, garages, commercial kitchens, warehouses and offices where task visibility matters more than ambient warmth, the 6500K colour temperature produces a crisp, blue-toned white that renders detail clearly and minimises eye strain during extended work periods. The B22 bayonet fitting installs directly into standard UK ceiling roses, pendant lampholders and workshop clamp lights without requiring adaptors or rewiring.
The bulb is rated for a 15-year lifespan based on average domestic use (approximately 13,000-15,000 hours of operation), which reduces replacement frequency and maintenance cost in commercial settings where access to ceiling-mounted fittings may require ladders or scaffolding. The non-dimmable LED driver delivers stable output on mains voltage without flicker, though attempting to use this bulb with a dimmer switch will cause malfunction and may void the warranty.
At energy rating D the bulb sits in the mid-range of current LED efficiency but still consumes 87% less power than the 200W halogen it replaces. The frosted glass envelope diffuses the LED array inside, preventing glare from individual diodes and producing an even light distribution across the 360-degree output sphere typical of GLS bulbs.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb suitable for bathroom or outdoor use?
The bulb carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor locations only. Use in bathrooms requires Zone 3 placement (more than 600mm from water sources) and the fitting itself must carry appropriate IP protection. Outdoor use is not recommended unless the bulb is installed inside a fully-sealed weatherproof luminaire.
What does 6500K daylight look like compared to warm white?
6500K produces a crisp, blue-toned white similar to overcast daylight or fluorescent office lighting. It appears noticeably cooler than 2700K-3000K warm white, which has a yellow-orange tone. Daylight bulbs are preferred for task work but can feel clinical in living spaces.
Can this bulb be used with a dimmer switch?
No. The bulb is non-dimmable and attempting to use it with a dimmer switch will cause flicker, buzz or failure. If dimming is required, choose a dimmable-rated LED bulb instead.
What's the actual bulb diameter?
GLS bulbs follow the traditional globe shape with a diameter of approximately 60mm. The B22 base adds approximately 25mm to the overall length, giving a total bulb height of around 110-115mm from base to tip.
