Energizer LED Candle E14 2.2W Filament Non-Dimmable - Daylight 6500K

This is a candle bulb with an E14 small Edison screw cap, the size of screw fitting used on most chandeliers, wall lights and small table lamps. Inside the clear glass sit LED filaments arranged in the upright pattern of a traditional candle lamp, so the bulb still looks like a bulb when it sits in an open fitting or under a clip-on shade. It draws 2.2W and returns 470 lumens, which the pack gives as the replacement for a 40W incandescent candle. The light is 6500K daylight, a crisp blue-white output rather than the yellow of an older filament lamp.

Daylight at this level suits places where you want to see clearly rather than settle in. Kitchen wall lights, a study or home office, a utility room, a workbench in the garage or a hallway lantern all take it well. In a five arm chandelier over a dining table it will read as bright and modern, so it is worth deciding whether you want that or a warmer 2700K look before you buy. Because the filaments are on show, it works best behind clear or lightly tinted glass, since a heavy opal shade hides the detail you are paying for.

There is no dimming here: the pack carries a non-dimmable icon and the specification agrees, so keep this bulb off a dimmer circuit where it may flicker or buzz. The pack prints a 50 year lifespan, and the energy label rates it class A at 3 kWh per 1000 hours. Each box holds one bulb. Will this fit my chandelier or wall light?

It fits any lampholder that takes an E14 small Edison screw cap. Unscrew the old bulb and check the thread measures about 14mm across; a larger 27mm thread is E27 and will not accept this one.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The pack shows a non-dimmable icon and the specification confirms it, so wire it to a plain on and off switch. On a dimmer it may flicker, buzz or fail early.

How bright is 470 lumens in practice?

The pack gives it as the replacement for a 40W incandescent candle, so a five arm fitting with all lamps in gives roughly the output of a 200W incandescent set for around 11W in total.

What does 6500K daylight actually look like?

Clean and blue-white, closer to a bright overcast sky than to candlelight. It reads as sharp and modern, and it makes colours and printed text easy to pick out on a worktop or desk.

Does the manufacturer state an IP rating?

No IP figure is given on the pack or in the specification, so treat it as an ordinary indoor lamp for dry, sheltered fittings and nothing more demanding than that.

How many bulbs do I receive?

One bulb per box. The minimum order is twelve boxes and they are sold in multiples of twelve, so the smallest quantity you can buy is twelve single bulbs.
