Description
The Energizer 18W LED GLS bulb is a B22 bayonet-cap lamp delivering 2542 lumens at 2700K warm white, designed as a direct replacement for traditional 150W incandescent GLS bulbs. The frosted glass envelope diffuses the LED light source across a wide beam angle, providing general ambient illumination in ceiling pendants, table lamps and standard lamp holders fitted with B22 sockets.
Suited to living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining rooms where overhead or task lighting requires sustained warm-toned output, the bulb operates on 230V mains and draws 18W. The non-dimmable design means it provides consistent light output from switch-on with no warm-up period, but it is not compatible with dimmer switches. The 15-year rated lifespan assumes approximately 3 hours use per day, reducing replacement frequency and disposal compared to halogen or incandescent equivalents.
The frosted GLS shape measures approximately 60mm diameter and 110mm overall length, fitting standard ceiling pendants and shades without protruding below the fitting. The B22 bayonet cap is the most common UK domestic bulb base, twisting and locking into place with a quarter turn. The 2700K colour temperature produces a warmer light than daylight-rated LEDs, sitting closer to the tone of traditional tungsten filament bulbs.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable?
No. The Energizer 18W LED GLS is non-dimmable and will not function correctly with dimmer switches. Installing it on a dimmed circuit may cause flickering or damage the bulb.
What does 2700K warm white look like?
2700K is a warm yellowish-white tone similar to traditional incandescent bulbs, creating a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. It sits at the warmer end of the white spectrum, softer than the 4000K-5000K cool white used in kitchens or bathrooms.
What's the rated lifespan?
Energizer rates this bulb at 15 years based on approximately 3 hours of daily use. Actual lifespan varies with usage patterns and switching frequency, but the LED design outlasts halogen and incandescent equivalents by a significant margin.
Will it fit my existing B22 lamp holder?
Yes. The B22 bayonet cap is the standard UK domestic fitting, compatible with ceiling pendants, table lamps and wall lights using the two-pin twist-lock socket. Check the maximum diameter clearance of enclosed shades before fitting.
